Review: 1 ½ cups white sugar ½ cup butter, softened ½ cup shortening 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 1. Make the dough: Beat the sugar, butter, shortening, eggs, and vanilla together. Mix the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, then stir until well-combined. 2. Roll the dough: Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls. Roll each ball in cinnamon-sugar until they're all evenly coated. 3. Bake the cookies: Bake the cookies in a preheated oven until they're set, but not too hard. Cool on a wire rack.
